Come ogni anno la manifestazione si svolge la penunltima domenica di maggio. La festa, che affonda le sue radici nei secoli e che è stata nuovamente istituita nel 1951, è l'unica delle tre feste sarde ad essere laica. Essa consiste nella sfilata a piedi, a cavallo o sulle traccas (i tipici carri sardi) di gruppi provenienti da tutta l'isola. Quest'anno prevista la presenza di 65 gruppi folk da 65 comuni diversi, 27 gruppi a cavallo, 270 cavalieri ed oltre 2500 figuranti in costume. Previsti in contemporanea molti eventi collaterali, come rassegne, mostre, degustazioni e incontri.

PERCORSO
La partenza è prevista alle ore 9:00 da corso Francesco Cossiga, di fronte alla Chiesa di San Giuseppe. Percorso: via Asproni, via Roma, piazza d’Italia, portici Bargone e Crispo, via Cagliari, via Brigata Sassari, emiciclo Garibaldi, viale Italia, per terminare in viale Mancini all’angolo con viale Enrico Berlinguer.
